Hocking Hills Canoe Livery Doggos

"My husband and I decided to do this for a relaxing getaway. It was perfect. Everyone there was so kind and helpful. We were the only ones that were booked for our time slot and Mike still took great care of us! 10/10 recommend!!"

Ellie and Alberto Rodriguez

"20/10 recommend. Second year annual camping trip. Facilities are nice, staff is nicer! Canoeing and kayaking on site and such an ease - they load you and unload you onto the river all you have to do is paddle til your hearts content. Such a great getaway for a refresh."

Jennifer

"We had a great experience kayaking/canoeing on the river. There were 5 of us along with Norm, the dog, who canoed along with his parents, while the other 3 kayaked. Our livery driver, Mike, did an exceptional job of offering us tips on how to navigate back to the livery....I would highly recommend!!"

Sherry Schaffer

"We travel to Fox’s Canoeing and Livery every year to kayak and enjoy the scenery. They have the best service and everyone there is so courteous! They keep you updated on local activity too. Even though this season there was abnormal drought, we were still able to kayak and have fun along the route. A Bald eagle showed up along with a group of Canadian geese."

Trip Details

Trip Details

We offer two trip options, both perfect for beginners. The Hocking River, where we operate, is a mostly calm and smooth waterway with a few gentle riffles, islands, and sandbars. This section of the river is classified as Class I.

You’ll be transported upstream, where you’ll start your journey by canoeing or kayaking back to our location and your car, following the natural current. Paddling times are approximate and based on the average pace of a typical paddler in usual river conditions. Both trips take place on the Hocking River, but if conditions are unfavorable, an alternate waterway may be used.

TRIP A – CROCKETT’S TRIP

5-Mile Canoeing Trip in Hocking Hills: Perfect for Beginners

Approximate paddling time: 2 hours

Experience the scenic beauty of the Hocking River as you paddle along its tree-lined banks and open fields. At the start of your journey, you’ll encounter several islands and sandbars—perfect spots for a little exploration or a picnic lunch. This trip is ideal for beginners, making it a great choice for young children, nervous adults, or anyone with limited time. You can enjoy this adventure by canoe, kayak, or raft (rafting is typically available only in the spring).

TRIP B – ROCKBRIDGE TRIP

7-Mile Scenic Kayaking Adventure to Natural Rockbridge

Approximate paddling time: 3- 4 hours

Our most popular river trip is this 7-mile adventure, offering two additional miles of the scenic Hocking River. Along the way, you’ll encounter more islands and sandbars, narrow passages, and a few extra riffles. The route features several excellent viewing spots for watching zip line enthusiasts. You’ll also have the chance to hike up to the Natural Rockbridge—a stunning natural formation that’s truly a work of art. This trip is available by canoe or kayak and is best suited for those with a flexible schedule.
